John Wick Assault Rifle - Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably seen the John Wick movie series. These action packed features are packed with the coolest guns and best gun handling in Hollywood. This is because Keanu Reeves, the star of the films, trained with professional shooter Taran Butler to prepare for the role.
With so many awesome guns in the movies, narrowing it down was definitely a task. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but here are some of the best guns from the John Wick series.

Editor's Note: There are some potential scene spoilers, but I've avoided major plot points. Although, if you haven't seen the series at this point, what are you waiting for?

Starting with pistols, John Wick uses a slew of high-end pistols. In the first movie, he is usually seen with two HK P30L pistols equipped with compensators. The P30L is an incredibly durable and reliable double action/single action pistol used by military and law enforcement units. The German company is known for producing some of the most reliable firearms in the world.
In the second movie, Wick upgrades to a custom Glock 34 built by Taran Tactical Innovations (TTI). It brings the Glock, a pistol known for its durability and reliability, to the highest level of performance with major upgrades such as improved sights, grip dots, expanded controls and a match-grade barrel. Later in the movie, he gets a Kimber Warrior .45 ACP 1911, with a magazine capacity of 7 rounds, to do the job.
Finally, in the third film, Wick performs a TTI Combat Masterpiece 2011 in 9×19 Major in the climactic shootout at the Continental Hotel. In my opinion, this is one of the best looking and coolest firearms ever produced (with a price tag to match). It features aggressive slide cuts for easy manipulation, a 5.4-inch match-grade bull barrel and an impressive dotted track on the grip - only the best of the best for John Wick.
Not only does Wick use modern tactical options, he also uses older weapons. In the third film, Wick is given a custom Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless as he decides on his next move and whether to face the High Table. At the beginning of the film, he rushes to build a functional Remington 1875 single-action revolver from parts of other revolvers in a museum. Additionally, the first shots of the third film are fired from a modern classic, the Bond Arms Texas Defender Derringer 9mm. Later, the company created a limited edition "Wicked" model with a JW serial number modeled after the one used in the film.
John Wick: Chapter 3
When Wick needs a little more firepower, he turns to some incredible guns to get the job done. In the first film, Wick uses a DTA Stealth Recon Scout while infiltrating the compound where his target is being guarded. This is a bullpup .308 Winchester bolt action rifle that packs a lot of power into a compact and maneuverable package. Plus, his friend Marcus helps him out with a Takedown Ruger M77 for those long range shots to back him up.
In the second movie, Wick packs a TTI TR-1 Ultralight for his grand escape in the catacombs. Chambered in 5.56 NATO with an 11.5-inch barrel, this SBR is configured with a Trijicon Accupoint optic and an RMR on a bevel rail.
A SIG Sauer MPX upgraded by Taran Tactical appears in the third film when Wick defends himself against the High Table enforcers at the Continental Hotel. Chambered in 9mm Luger, it is not as powerful as a traditional rifle, but has very little recoil and offers quick follow-up shots.
Wick's heavier firepower doesn't end there, he also uses some top tier shotguns. In the first film, he is shown with a Kel-Tec KSG pump-action shotgun. The KSG has dual magazine tubes, making it one of the most powerful pump action shotguns available.

In the second movie, Wick uses a Benelli M4 Super 90 with TTI upgrades in the catacombs. Some of the features include an extended magazine tube, a pistol grip, fixed stock and an extra holster. The Benelli M4 is about as rugged as it gets in the shotgun world, so it makes sense for Wick to use it.
He turns to the classic Benelli M2, this version of course upgraded with all the bells and whistles from TTI. The Benelli M2 is a semi-automatic shotgun that uses the simple and reliable inertia-driven blowback system. At the same time, his friend Charon, the caretaker, drives a Benelli M4, a gas-powered version of a similar design, to support him.
Aside from firearms, John Wick uses some great gear befitting an action hero. As for the blades, in the second movie he is shown fighting with a Microtech Combat Troodon. Microtech makes some of the best automatic knives that are ready for serious use. In the later films, Wick is equipped with his lightweight, yet durable, body armor. Reinforced with a kevlar liner, it gives it the mobility and protection it needs to get the job done. Ultimately, of course, John Wick wouldn't be without his trusty pencil. Known for using a pencil to defeat his enemies in no time, this writing utensil appears several times in the series.
I could go on, but you get the point. The John Wick series is filled with some of the toughest gunplay and action I've seen in a while. The training and advice from Taran Tactical Innovations has certainly paid off. If you're a fan of action movies and haven't tried it, you're missing out.

About the Author: Alex Cole Alex is a relatively young firearms enthusiast who has been shooting consistently for about seven years. Although he is fairly new to the industry, he enjoys consuming all the information related to guns and is constantly trying to increase his knowledge, understanding and use of firearms. Not a day goes by that he doesn't do something with guns.
Alex tries to visit the shooting range at least a few times a month to maintain and improve his shooting skills. He also enjoys taking firearms apart and putting them back together to see how they work and to keep them properly clean and maintained. He installs most of the upgrades to his firearms himself and sees it as an opportunity to learn.
In addition, he is very fond of buying, selling and trading guns to test different firearms and learn more about them. Not only is he interested in modern pistols and rifles, he appreciates the classics for both historical value and real world use. John Wick & Neo
Everyone's favorite long-haired bearded badass, John Wick, returns to the silver screen later this year for the third film in the action-packed series.
Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, is a master of close combat and seems to excel at his own brand of gun-fu - often using his weapons in both conventional and very unconventional ways, while finding new ways to turn random things into weapons to change. (a pencil for example, a la John Wick 2).
Among Wick's powerful arsenal are mostly ARs, seemingly the character's preference for both short and medium ranges.
While Wick may very well be using an assault rifle in the new movie, fans should expect this ultra-cool modified SIG Sauer MPX pistol caliber carbine.

To create a weapon worthy of Wick, Taran Butler, owner of Taran Tactical Innovations, took SIG's MPX PCC and added a few new things.
Taran Tactical also removed the original hand guard and added a new and fairly lighter carbon fiber guard along with a rougher surface for extra grip. The rifle still has the original Timney MPX trigger designed for the MPX PCC.
An Aimpoint red dot sight, a new muzzle brake, and an expanded 40-round magazine round out the rest of the pistol's mod list.
The lighter caliber nature of the PCC makes it a favorite when it comes to training celebrities to skillfully use guns in movies, according to the SIG representative who spoke with GearScout at SHOT Show.

The lack of recoil, ease of operation and light weight allow new and inexperienced shooters to quickly adjust to a more acceptable learning curve before moving to a heavier caliber.
A seasoned disciple of precision when it comes to firearms in his movies, Reeves can handle guns like a seasoned competition shooter, and you can see him practicing for the second John Wick movie with a Taran Tactical MPX in this clip:
